Lawrence Ayeni flags off campaign for House of Representatives[photos]

A grassroot politician in Osun state Hon Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni has officially declared intentions to run for House of Representatives seat in the forthcoming 2019 general election

The foremost philanthropist declared his intention to represent the people of Ijesa South Federal Constituency at the national Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday in front of party members, and  hundreds of his supporters and lovers, at his empowerment foundation office, Ilesa.

The aspirant said that he knew where the shoe pinches the constituents, and the people’s welfare, youths empowerment and improved standard of living would remain his priority. 

He urged party members to vote for him in the upcoming party primaries, describing his interest to contest as God's own project.

While eulogising the leadership of APC , Hon Ayeni thanked the funding fathers of the party, describing Governor Rauf Aregbesola, as his mentor and benefactor, just as he appreciated the people of Ijesaland for their love, encouragement, supports and prayers.

Those who spoke at the event described Hon Ayeni who is the Amuludun of Ijesaland as a blessing to the less privileges in the society,whose philanthropic gestures have imparted lives of many families in Ijesaland, and beyond.

At the event were hundreds of supporters and lovers of Hon Ayeni, which included party members, traditional rulers, market men and women, artisans, NATA Ijesaland, famers, Student union leaders, youths, religious bodies, community heads, beneficiaries of his empowerment Scheme, and a host of others who unanimously endorsed his candidacy for the house of reps in 2019.
